The 5D Joined-Up Risk Check
You've grown fast.
Has your risk kept up?
HR and H&S sitting on the side of someone's desk isn't a paperwork problem — it's a cost. This two-minute check puts a number on what your gaps could be costing you, including the new Employment Rights Act 2025 duties, and what it would take to close them properly.
First, the shape of your business
This sets the scale of everything that follows — nothing here is stored or sent anywhere.
HR & employment law
Answer honestly — this is what exposes the real gaps, including the ones ERA 2025 is about to make far more expensive.
Health & safety compliance
Straight yes/no, against what the HSE actually expects a business your size to have in place.
Three honest scales
No right answers — just where things really sit today.

ERA 2025 spotlight
The Employment Rights Act 2025 is being phased in from April 2026 through January 2027 — day-one rights, trade union access and recognition, a strengthened harassment duty, and an unfair dismissal window cut to six months with the compensation cap removed. Here's what it means for you specifically.
What 5D could save you
Cost of leaving it, next to the cost of fixing it properly — joined-up, not in silos.
Prices shown are for the combined HR + H&S retainer. We can also price HR-only or H&S-only support separately if that's a better fit — just ask.
How this is calculated
- Each "no" answer carries an illustrative cost range, scaled by headcount and, for H&S, by whether the work is physical/manual. A "don't know" is treated as a partial gap, weighted at 60% of a "no".
- HR ranges reflect published 2025/26 employment tribunal award limits (e.g. unfair dismissal, flexible working, failure to provide written particulars).
- ERA 2025 questions span the confirmed implementation waves — April 2026, August/October 2026, and January 2027 — including trade union access and recognition, the strengthened sexual harassment duty, and the doubled redundancy protective award. Some later-2027 measures (e.g. zero-hours guaranteed offers) are still subject to consultation and may shift.
- H&S ranges reflect typical HSE enforcement notice and prosecution costs for SMEs, not worst-case headline fines.
- Firefighting time is costed at an assumed £40/hour of leadership time.
- Confidence scales adjust the range up or down — low confidence widens exposure, high confidence narrows it.
- This is a discussion tool, not legal advice or a formal audit — it's designed to open the right conversation, not replace one.
Fix the problem. Then build it properly.
